BILL CHERRY'S GREATEST DALLAS PARK CITIES REAL ESTATE BLOG: 20 BEST AND 20 WORSE HOUSING MARKETS

20 BEST AND 20 WORSE HOUSING MARKETS

Business Week is reporting interesting statistics this week.  Their cover story shows the Twenty Top Housing Markets in the US, contrasted with the Twenty Worse Housing Markets in the U.S.

Texas had four of those Top markets and none of the Worse Markets:

7         Austin    1.5 million         Median Price $188,000

        Beaumont  379,640         Median Price $128,000

15        San Antonio  1.9 million   Median Price $154,700

18        El Paso    746,310           Median Price $135,800

Interestingly, as so frequently seems to happen, there are so many cities in California and Florida that over-built, that the two states share the award for the most cities with bad markets.

California has nine of them; Florida has eight of them; and Michigan, the only other state with a mention in the list of bad markets, has three of them.

Overall, Texas remains in a rather enviable position.

*Wishful thinking.

Bill, since when did Italian become the official language of Texas?  Seems like the markets in Texas are in decent shape compared to some other states around the country.

World headquarters of Bill Cherry, Realtors, (at least in my mind) is in Rome.  We keep in constant touch through the Internet, cell phones, etc.  This is the 21st Century, afterall.

Bill - This is interesting to see.  I am, of course, happy to see that Austin came in at #7.

Jason, it was especially interesting to me because they call your market the Austin-Round Rock market.   Hardly anyone had even heard of ultra-sleepy Round Rock 10 years ago.

Miss Joanie and Jeffrey

We've been very fortunate.  I hope it holds, and I hope your markets take a turn for the better soon.
