My friend, Walter Hammock is one of my nominees for 2010 for the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. Walter is a fine student of American history and the Bible.
He sent this to his friends today. I think it is right on target.
"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion.
Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." -- John Adams

Our current Gov't is changing the world so fast its scary. Slow down. Stop signing bills without knowing whats in them.
Wow, so true, I wish we could forward your blog post to them.
Personally I like this post and am sick of people trying to legislate morality and tell me that that is freedom. Same goes for religiuon. Nice post and a good reality check
Terri, Charlie and Dan --
What is so interesting is that our government doesn't operate like we learned in civics that it does. And for the life of me, I can't figure out how we can ever restore it to the Founding Fathers' intent.
